Nathan Keith Named Advisor of the Year in Indiana

Six Sycamore VEX Robotics teams claimed bids to World Championship as the Sycamore CyberEAGLE competed with over 400 robotics teams from across Indiana at the State Championship on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium. The World Championships will be April 24-27 in Louisville.

All of the teams advancing (two 5th grade teams and four Middle School teams) are ranked in the top 15 in the state, and two of the teams are in the top 10 in the country. Sycamore's Nathan Keith was named the VEX Mentor of the Year for the state of Indiana.

RESULTS 5th Grade 10990A: Won the Excellence and Teamwork Awards for the Amelia Earhart Division, and claimed second in the Teamwork State Championship Finals. The girls finished 5th in State Skills Championship by earning a tie for 4th driving and 7th in programming. The team enters the World Championships next month ranked 8th in Indiana, 28th in the U.S., and 61st in the World. Team members include: Sophie Liang, Riti Tandra, Sarah Hinchman, Annamarie Ebersole, Kavya Devarapalli, Hasini Ambaty, and Lillian Tabor.

10990B: Won the State Skills Championship by finishing first in programming and a tie for 4th in driving. The boys claimed third in Teamwork after qualifying 6th in the Percy Julian Division. The team enters the World Championship next month ranked 2nd in the State, 6th in the U.S., and 21st in the World. Team members include: Rishi Nagireddy, Arnay Garhyan, Brandon Clague, Garrett Hur, Mukund Sagi, Owen Zhang, and Ben Wei.

Middle School 10775A: In teamwork, they finished in a tie for 19th in the Neil Armstrong Division and in a tie for 30th in Skills fueled by a tie for 11th in Driving. The team enters the World Championship ranked 9th in Indiana, 30th in the U.S., and 45th in the World. Team members include: Alyssa Effland, Alissa Weigand, Josh Irizarry, Owen Williams, and Isabel Hargrove.

10775B: Claimed the Think Award and finished in a tie for 2nd in Teamwork for the Eli Lilly Division. They finished 2nd in the State Skills Championship by finishing 2nd in both Driving and Programming. They narrowly missed the State Championship by an amazing last programming run in the last few minutes of competition by a Heritage Christian team ranked 3rd in the World. The team enters the World Championship next month ranked 3rd in Indiana, 15th in the U.S., and 23rd in the World. Team members include: Mary Cudworth, Oliver Seifert, Erik Haggstrom, Kate Weigand, and Cooper Grabow.

10775C: Finished 4th in Skills after leading the competition for most of the day earning a tie for 3rd in Driving and 6th in Programming. In addition, they finished in a tie for 6th in the Teamwork finals after qualifying in a tie for 19th in the Neil Armstrong Division. The team enters the World Championship next month ranked 5th in Indiana, 20th in the U.S., and 33rd in the World. Team members include: Aarish Sakib, Nate Liang, Jason Shaye, and Avi Maun.

10775D: Finished in a tie for 13th in Skills after a strong tie for 3rd in Driving. They finished in 35th in teamwork in the Eli Lilly Division. They team narrowly missed a bid to Worlds by 2 spots after raising their rankings numerous spots by their performance at State. They finish their season ranked 21st in Indiana, 125th in the U.S., and 161st in the World. Team members include: Sruthi Devarapalli, Anastasia Ebersole, Ria Tandra, and Nella Gussick.

10775E: Finished in 10th in Teamwork after qualifying 15th in the Neil Armstrong Division. In addition, they finished 10th in the State Skills Championship by a solid tie for 9th place in Programming and 32nd in Driving. The team enters the World Championship next month ranked 14th in Indiana, 45th in the U.S., and 61st in the World. Team members include: Lukas Fiur, Jake Lee, Sam Irizarry, and Jack Fultz.
