Students Compete in National Academic Bee Competitions

The International Academic Competitions held their 2021 National Bee Championships last weekend (September 3-6).  Middle school division tournaments (6th, 7th and 8th Grades) were held in Arlington, Virginia while the elementary division (5th Grade and below) was held online.  Six Sycamore students participated in the different individual competitions after qualifying in the Regional Finals held in May 2021.

  • Evan Ting (6th Grade) qualified for the finals of the National Science Bee (6th overall) and the National Academic Bee (5th overall), and the semi-finals of the US History Bee (10th overall) and National History Bee (15th overall).
  • Sameer Zadai (7th Grade) qualified for the finals of the National Academic Bee (5th overall), semi-finals of the US History Bee (16th overall), and 18th in the International Geography Bee.
  • Gavin Sigua (6th Grade) qualified for the semi-finals of the National Science Bee (16th overall).
  • Evan Glushik (7th Grade) finished 23rd in the International Geography Bee and Sophie Seifert (7th Grade) finished 29th in the National History Bee.
