Sycamore had four VEX Robotics teams competing at the VEX State Competition held at Lucas Oil Stadium this past Saturday (March 25), and all four Sycamore teams qualified for the World Championships in Dallas, Texas beginning in April.
Team 10775C (Alex Bramhill, Leni Lee, and Nirdvaita Chandrana) won the Design Award. This award is for a team with a good and well-documented design process, which they demonstrate in both their engineering notebook and team interview. The award comes with an automatic bid to the VEX Robotics World Championships in Dallas, TX. Team 10775C also improved their skills score from 132 to 143.
Team 10775B (John Coutant, Simon Williams, AJ Rhea, and Oliver Gollapudi) brought home a trophy for third place in Robot Skills by posting a score of 263, which earned them a bid to the World
Championships. They also finished 11th in qualifying and made it into the Teamwork finals.
Team 10775A (Rachel Cudworth, Pari Ponugoti, Krishna Una, and Riya Chandra) improved their skills score from a previous season high of 161 to 180 to finish in 22nd place in Robot Skills. This score was enough to earn the team a bid to the World Championships.
Team 10775D (Suraj Shah, Ethan Liu, and Kelvin Yan) also improved their skills score. They improved their previous high of 115 to 153 and finished in 35th place. This score was also high enough to earn them a bid to the World Championships.
