Quest Summer Camp

Sycamore camps have been a tradition since Sycamore School’s founding in 1985.

We are thrilled to provide a variety of exciting and enriching programs for your children. Sycamore camps help children discover new friends, confidence and creativity.

In 2012, more than 20 different one-week summer camps are being offered for kids, from Preschool through Eighth Grade

The camps are offered for children, as young as four years-old.   All camps are open to children who attend other schools during the school year. Sycamore School staff and area specialists lead all of the specialty camps. We will also be offering Camp Invention and a Rocky Ripple Clayworks program.  We are also excited to offer a science camp led by The Academy teachers and staff.

This Sycamore Summer Quest Camp site lists and describes the camps offered by entering grade level and type of camp. The registration forms and consent forms can be downloaded using the links on this page.  Complete and return the forms. You wil receive an email after the registration for and consent forms have been received.

We are looking forward to a super summer at Sycamore Summer Quest. We know your child will have a fun-filled and rewarding experience at our camps. For more information, contact Dusty Burwell, Sycamore Quest Director at 202-2541.

Whether you want to delve into a topic and write a research report or you have some ideas for stories (or even a novel!), we will become a writing community. Work to understand how your learning style can actually help you become a better writer. Have you ever read with a flashlight or booklight under the covers late at night? Have rhymes that tumbled through your head made you giggle? Do you have a way with words? Is poetry or songwriting a passion? Has an idea for a movie crept into your thoughts over and over again? Come join us as we go on a writing adventure that explores the writing process through such pieces as short stories, memoirs, poetry, and essays. We will write, create a book, and have a celebration where we share our work with family and friends. We will spend our mornings learning about the process of writing, how to combine our learning style with that process, reading great writers, sharing our writing through the author’s chair, and using physical activity, combined with brain research, to grow as writers. Afternoons will be time devoted to writing woven with nature walks, journals, writing conversations with the teacher, and time to think deliberately.
